There are new rules for checking out the headphones.
1) Students are NOT required to show ID to checkout headphones. First ask them for their ID card. If the do not have it then ask them for their SID number and look them up in the Unicorn system. If they do not know that then then ask them for their last name and look them up in the Unicorn system. If they are not listed in the system then follow the instructions listed on the wiki here. If they cannot be put into the system right away and/or they do not know their SID then ask for their name and/or SID, write it down on the manual checkout sheet and let them use the headphones.
2) Use Workflows on the Multimedia Services computer at the front desk to check out headphones. -Ask for the student ID CARD -Enter their student ID number into “User ID” and enter the headphone number into “Item ID” and press enter or click “Check out item to user”. The headphones have been successfully checked out. -If they do not have a student ID card but remember their student ID number, ask for photo IDfor verification (if they don't have it you can still checkout the headphones).
Enter their student ID number into Workflows and press enter WITHOUT entering the headphone number. Workflows will display the student’s name.
-Verify the name on workflows is the same as the name on the photo ID. Enter the headphone number and press enter or click “Check out item to user”. The headphones have been successfully checked out. -If they do not have a student ID card and do not remember their student ID number, but do have photo ID, look them up using “User Search.” -Enter their last name, and a list of students and staff with that last name will be displayed. Select the student and their student ID number will be automatically put into “User ID.” -Enter the headphone number and press enter or click “Check out item to user”. The headphones have been successfully checked out. -If they do not have photo ID of any kind and are not in the system then write down their name on the manual checkout sheet. Checking in headphones
-Select Discharging and type the headphone number into “Item ID”
-Clean the headphones and return them to the box.
